The Lonely Island are amazing. Enough said. Made of Akiva Schaffer, Jorma Taccone and Davod Andrew Samberg these guys became a hit on Saturday Night Live and soon gathered a following of people from around the world with their songs and videos.

Just watch this one, as this is one of my favourites with good old T-Pain. Truely Epic… go and explore more.

Juj, Juj, who the fu*k is Juj..?

Juj, pronounced jooooj/jewj/joodge, is an electronic music producer hailing from the deep pools of talent that are Los Angeles (or ‘whales vagina’ in the words of good old Ron Burgandy). He is one of the co-founders of the Wedidit Collective which includes such great artists as Shlohmo and Elan, and is currently signed to HW&W Recordings.

LA pretty much supplies most of the soundtrack to my life, producing none other than the Brainfeeder crew (including Flying Lotus, Lorn, Samiyam and Tokimonsta) and this ‘bad boi’ is no different. Bouncy and full of character the tracks are short but so catchy they make ya head nod on impulse!

Make sure you check out the album ‘Slack’ as there are some fantastic tracks to be consumed, mulled over and swallowed.

Here is a little taster from his album, two tracks for your eardrums.

Montgomery Clunk

Posted in Uncategorized on December 29, 2010 by oscarmassivehands

Montgomery Clunk…. with a name like that you are bound for great things…!

Eastern Europe is throwing out some great new talents, and Montgomery Clunk is one such person. Coming at ya from Bucharest in Romania, Montgomery Clunk seems to lay down flawless track after flawless track. Since finding this guys work, Oscar has found a bubble of new Euro talent to get his massive hands into so be sure to watch this space to see what more little gems we are throwing your way.

At only 22 years old Silviu Badea seems to work with so many styles of electronic music its hard to define his sound. Dubstep, Hip Hop, Ambient and (if you can have such a thing) classic Electronica are all blended together, and his new debut EP ‘Superbus’ is something to be heard!!

The sound is clean and yet heavy, and will get you all bouncing around wanting a little more Euro wonk. Here are again, a few of Oscar’s favourites.

Remember, Oscar is only ever showing you the tip of his enormous iceberg so its up to you to go and seek out more…

Eero Johannes… Lipton Service Boy

Posted in Uncategorized on December 28, 2010 by oscarmassivehands

I have had this album on my computer for some time, and i suppose was never in the room when this song played. Not that the rest of the album is not ‘da BOM’ but this track is so fucking good! I know that this basic use of adjectives does this song no justice at all but i am lost for highly descriptive words after a christmas of doing sweet FA!!

Eero Johannes is a one man, synthetic funk orchestra and released his first albums with Mu Records is 2008. He pursues a cute crispness, of electronic melody, one that makes boys and girls alike just want to dance!!! Whatever it is about this song, Oscar is positively wet!

Lipton Service Boy… Wow, what a song! This song reeks of fine, european electric synth beats and all i want to do is don a brightly coloured head band and get fuked. I have been paying this so loudly, that i think Oscar’s next door neighbours are a little unhappy. Oh well, they will deal with it one day!!

Enjoy this song, and as ever go and find more from this very bright young talent!!

Quasimoto…

Posted in Uncategorized on December 20, 2010 by oscarmassivehands

Quasimoto, aka Lord Quas, is another alias of the bangin’ Madlib; hailing from Oxnard, California.

Madlib was apparently rapping to his own tunes one day and he did not like his voice. He was even knicknamed “Barry White’ on account of his bassy deep voice and so decided to tweak the sound, speeding up the recordings to give Quasimoto his recognisable high pitched voice.

In my humble opinion, Lors Quas is one of the best projects undertaken by one the best music producers ever.

Here are a few of Oscar’s favourites!

Shlohmo is my sound track at the moment. At 20 years old this guy is killin it! Such a rich sound, and so textured.. but it is hip-hop that you hear. The compression is not good, but thats why its so raw! There is something about his sound that is uniquely his. Here are some lil’ tunes for ya. Enjoi….

Go and grab his recent  Shlo-Fi EP… trust..

Blue Sky Black Death

Posted in Uncategorized on November 10, 2010 by oscarmassivehands

Blue Sky Black Death.. what a name. I am loving this music right now, and have just found an album called The Razah’s Ladder Instrumentals.

Young God and Kingston make up Blue Sky Black Death, and are flawless with their mastery of music production. They have mastered the art of collaboration with various hip hop collaborators (Jean Grae, Crooked-I, Hell Razah, the late Guru, Ill Bill, to name but a few). Their music is heavily layered and often requires the assistance of others to finish their sound. If you listen, you can hear all the levels; the strings that offer a deep ambience i love, the resonating hip hop beats flowing through and with abstract vocals Blue Sky Black Death bring forward a ‘melange’ of melody that is truly engrossing.

As far as instrumental hip hop goes, Oscar Massive Hands does not think this can be topped easily. Reaching massive acclaim quickly, they have launched their new album Slow Burning Lights. Make sure you seek out their beats, as they are ‘incroyable’..!

Here are some tunes from The Razah’s Ladder Instrumentals.. go find…
